A YOUNG north coast competitor has won a silver medal after performing at her first ever National Mod.
Nine-year-old Esther Spratt of Strathy came second in the P4-5 learners solo singing section at the Royal National Mod which was held this year in Paisley.
Esther sang “Air an Traigh” and only one point separated her from the competition winner.
Her tutor, Catriona MacLeod of Strathnaver, commented: “We are all so delighted for Esther. She is a natural performer and did us all proud.
“She carried her success in her first local Mod all the way to competing and doing so well at national level. She is a great ambassador for the area.”
The Royal National Mod ran from October 13-21.
