AN Essex man is set to run across the Far North coast in memory of his wife.

Graham Biner (39) from Rayleigh, will embark on a 122-mile run from Cape Wrath to Duncansby Head on Sunday.

He is taking part in Liz’s Lighthouse Challenge in memory of his wife, Liz, who died from breast cancer last September.

He aims to raise £5000 for Havens Hospices, an adult hospice charity which looked after Liz during her treatment.

Graham said the idea of the run came during a conversation with his wife when she was receiving treatment. They hoped that they could both take part.

"My wife was the most inspirational, determined and truly beautiful person I have ever met," he said.

"She wanted to do something special, unique and challenging to raise money for the charity that had made such a difference to our lives.

"The logistical planning of the challenge has been tricky, but the warmth that we’ve received from local businesses, hoteliers and officials in Caithness and Sutherland has been overwhelming."
