North coast applications for the Species on the Edge Youth Panel are open
A conservation programme announced that it is looking for 14 young people aged 16 to 25 to join its Species on the Edge Youth Panel (SEYP).
If you are aged between 16 and 25, based in one of the project areas which includes Caithness and Sutherland, and passionate about standing up for nature then this could be an opportunity for you.
Apply at: www.nature.scot/doc/species-edge-youth-panel-expression-interest-form
What is the Species on the Edge Youth Panel?
Panel members will meet online to discuss issues relating to the natural environment and their communities. There will also be the opportunity to join a spring residential.
Why apply?

Through this role, youth panellists will:
- meet new people and learn from experts within the conservation sector.
- be supported in developing their own local project to help more people connect with nature.
- gain new knowledge, develop their skills, and increase their employability.
Who is it for?
Anyone aged between 16 and 25 and based in one of the seven project areas is eligible to apply. Find out more about the project areas here: nature.scot/doc/species-edge-project-area-summaries
The group is looking for people with a range of backgrounds and experiences – so long as you are passionate about standing up for nature, this is an opportunity for you.
To apply, fill in the expression of interest form and email it back. Applicants with the most suitable expressions of interest will then be invited for an online chat, and from there the organisation will select the 14 youth panel members.
Know of anyone or any local groups who you think would be interested in this opportunity? Let them know. All information about Species on the Edge and the youth panel can be found on the website: www.speciesontheedge.co.uk
