Tributes have been paid on social media following the death of a teenager in Wick at the weekend.

The Facebook profile of 18-year-old Caitlin Cowie was changed to a remembering status, with friends and family invited to share memories and celebrate her life. She was described by one friend as "one in a million" and "kind-hearted".

A police statement said: "Around 3.30pm on Saturday, June 6, 2020, police were called to an address in Hill Avenue, Wick, where an 18-year-old girl had taken unwell. She was taken by ambulance to Caithness General Hospital in Wick where she later died.

"There would appear to be no suspicious circumstances surrounding her death and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal."
