No plea over Wick weapon charge

A Wick man is facing a charge of serious assault and possession of a weapon in public.

Lyall Shepherd made no plea during his appearance in private at the town's sheriff court on Tuesday.

The 23-year-old was granted bail by Sheriff David Sutherland pending further inquiry.

The offences are alleged to have occurred in Wick on May 9.
