Nick Noble (Scottish Liberal Democrats)
I AM a full-time dad and an independent computer consultant, and I live with my family in High Ormlie. We make use of many local services – schools, leisure, library, housing... Daily interactions with these services ensure that I am well aware of the strengths and weaknesses of the services provided by the Highland Council.
By ensuring that we get the little things right in Thurso for every individual, for every group, we will get the big things right for everyone. After all, any society is only the sum total of the individuals it represents.
The council faces challenges greater than any other simply because of its area and diversity.
By setting area against area we make more problems than we solve, particularly when dealing with the Scottish Government and increasingly centralised public services.
Provided councillors from all areas make strategic decisions based on what is best for the Highlands but informed by all of our communities, and provided local councillors and community councils are given the authority and budget to make decisions which solely affect their area, then the Highlands can become stronger as a whole. If elected I promise to truly represent Thurso, and work toward a better Highlands. Read more about me at? http:/nicknoble.info
