News in Brief: Motorcycle damaged in Thurso – Lodge Latheron anniversary – Wick book sale

Police Scotland have launched an appeal for information after a motorcycle was damaged in Thurso in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Witnesses to the incident on Olrig Street are being asked to contact 101.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers are appealing for information after damage was caused to a motorcycle parked on Olrig Street, Thurso, in the early hours of Sunday, September 10.”

Lodge marks anniversary

Lodge Latheron 1424 celebrated its 75th diamond jubilee anniversary on September 6 in the Masonic Hall, Latheronwheel.

Right Worshipful Master Bro John Glen welcomed visiting brethren from the three other lodges in the provence and other brethren from outwith the Provence of Caithness.

The rededication service was carried out by Right Worshipful Provincial Grand Master Bro James Beattie.

Book sale

A book sale will be held at St John’s Scottish Episcopal Church in Wick next week. Caithness books will be sold at £2 each, with funds raised going to the church.

The sale takes place at the church hall in Moray Street on Friday and Saturday, September 22-23, from 10am-2pm.
