New trial date for Caithness man over alleged sexual offences

A new date has been fixed for the trial of a man who made his name selling racing tips.

Kevin Booth was originally scheduled to fight allegations of a sexual nature on April 1, but the date was put back to April 17, at Wick Sheriff Court this week.

The 64-year-old is accused of directing a sexual communication towards a woman without her consent by engaging in a sexualised conversation with her and asking her intimate questions of a sexual nature and offering her money to engage in a sexual activity with him.

The allegations, which Booth denies, are said to have taken place between August 8 and December 9, 2022, at his 130-year-old home, Loch Dhu Lodge, Altnabreac. He has consulted King’s Counsel Brian McConnachie.
