The men’s and ladies’ tug-of-war teams representing Caithness Young Farmers have new tops thanks to sponsorship from local firms W & A Geddes and Caithness Livestock Breeders.
The teams have been training since January at Gerston Farm, Halkirk, and will be competing at the Cornhill Highland Games, near Banff, on Saturday, June 1. The event acts as a qualifier for the Royal Highland Show at Ingliston later in the month.
It has been over 10 years since Caithness Young Farmers tried to qualify for the Royal Highland Show.
Head coach James Allan is helped by four vice-coaches – John Swanson, Graeme Gunn, Bruce Swanson Jnr and Andrew Swanson.
Harpsdale-based Highland Workwear is also supporting the Caithness Young Farmers ladies’ tug-of-war team by supplying embroidered tops, a kit bag and a Highland cow mascot.
