Facilities and coaching is on offer for the boards and directors of Highland youth work organisations, to enable better support for young people involved in developing social enterprise activities.

The opportunity will help boards plan new developments, and overcome challenges. Funded by The Highland Council and delivered by the Social Enterprise Academy, the opportunity, which is available at no cost to qualifying organisations, aims to support board members with key skills such as: setting strategic aims and objectives, a vision for the future, forward planning, identifying sources of funding or investment for enterprising youth work.

Jen Lindsay, project manager at the Social Enterprise Academy said: “This is an excellent opportunity for boards of youth groups and clubs to support their young people in creating positive social change. With the support of the My Future, My Success programme, youth groups and clubs can build sustainable third–sector youth support within communities, enabling them to build a positive future for young people.”

Alongside the board support programme, a youth programme is also available for young people who attend a youth hub or club and have an interest in creating social change.

Applications for board support opportunities are available until the end of July, and are on a first–come first–serve basis.
