New holiday complex opens at Groats

THE new self-catering apartments at John O’Groats, part of the £6 million redevelopment of the area, opened today (Friday).

Called The Inn, the apartments have been created at the site of the former John O’Groats House Hotel. It has been restored over the last two years and has a new Norse- style extension which provides a splash of colour against the rugged landscape.

The Inn has bespoke self-catering apartments with one, two or four bedrooms, and offer some stunning views of the coast, the Pentland Firth, Stroma and the Orkneys.

Natural Retreats is behind the John O’Groats redevelopment which also includes other residential units, The Outfitters clothing outlet and The Storehouse ship which sells local produce and goods.
