New Caithness flag set to be unveiled
WHICH design have the people of Caithness chosen to fly from flagpoles to represent the county? We’re about to find out.
Highland Council is set to unveil the new flag of Caithness at a ceremony in Wick on Tuesday.
The chief heraldic authority of Scotland, Lord Lyon Dr Joseph Morrow, will perform the unveiling at Caithness House when he will sanction the design as the official county flag.
To mark the occasion, the Lord Lyon will join Caithness councillors in a special march from Wick Town Hall to Caithness House where they will be welcomed by Caithness Civic Leader Gail Ross
Dr Morrow has bought the first flag to be produced and has donated it to the public. It will be on display at the Caithness council offices.
Tuesday’s parade will leave Wick Town Hall at 2pm and will be accompanied by a piper to Caithness House.
