The new manager of the Caithness branch of Citizens Advice Bureau has been welcomed into the post by board members and local advisers.

Nigel Bott, of Wick, took on the role in July and the chairwoman/director of the CAB board Jane MacIntosh met him at a special event.

She said: “On behalf of board of management, I am delighted to welcome Nigel into this wide and varied role where he will be working with internal and external stakeholders to maintain and develop the work of the bureau and drive forward our strategic aims.”

Mr Bott said: “I am looking forward to leading the service forward to support the Caithness community. I moved to Caithness 18 months ago from Kent, where I worked as an adviser and the office manager for Citizens Advice Thanet for five years.

“I am proud to be involved with CAB and am looking forward to seeing how my team and the service develops to improve the accessibility of support across our county.

“In my spare time I am a keen golfer and enjoy exploring the amazing coastline and landscapes that Caithness and Sutherland have to offer.”

During the welcome event, Mrs MacIntosh also presented certificates to newly trained adviser Nicolle Robertson.
