Net zero transition views sought from Caithness residents
Caithness residents' views are being sought on how the region can transition to net zero in a fair way.
The Just Transition Commission, an independent group that advises the Scottish Government on how to cut carbon emissions fairly, will be hosting a consultation event for the public next week.
The event will be held in Wick's Pulteney Centre on Wednesday (May 7) from 6.30pm to 8pm.
The commission includes experts and senior leaders from trade unions, voluntary organisations, environmental groups, business and industry.
"What does a fair future look like for communities, businesses and workers in Caithness? We are holding meetings across Scotland so we can hear directly from different people and communities," said a spokesperson. "As part of this, we are coming to Wick and want to hear from you about your experiences of living and working in the area.

"We will publish our findings as advice to Scottish Government.
"Come along to our open event on Wednesday and have your say. All are welcome."
Food and refreshments will be available on arrival from 6.15pm, with the event then beginning at 6.30pm. Please email justtransitioncommission@gov.scot to advise of any dietary requirements.
