Neil MacDonald (Scottish Labour Party)

SINCE leaving Wick High School in 1985 I have worked in the town’s Co-op, starting on a YTS scheme and working my way up to team leader.

I live in West Banks Terrace with my wife Jennifer.

I am standing in my home town because during these difficult times the people of Wick need a stronger local voice in Inverness. I want to be that voice.

While campaigning, I have found that people are constantly voicing their worries about education and youth unemployment.

If elected, I will strive to ensure Wick gets a new high school and that those leaving secondary education get an opportunity to gain real skills so they do not start their adult lives on benefits.

Also high on my list of priorities are improvements to roads and educating the young drivers who use them, the availability of social housing, and the issue of fuel costs.

These are my priorities for Wick. I believe that Wick and its people have all the potential; I will be honoured to have the opportunity to work for you on the Highland Council.
