DINGWALL Thistle forward John MacLeod has been presented with the Port Services Group North Caledonian League player of the year award.

MacLeod, who has rattled in over 30 goals for runners-up Thistle this season, was a worthy winner of the top award according to his manager Alan Gair.

He told the Ross-shire Journal, "He is a super lad who has been massive for us this season. John has shown a lot of commitment and loyalty to the club over the past two seasons and his goals kept us in with a shout of winning the championship right up to the last game. I’m delighted for him, he fully deserves the award."

The top goalscorer award went to Thurso’s Mark Nichol, who netted 36 goals, while Liam Bremner (Halkirk United) won the Keith Corbett Memorial Trophy as young player of the year. Bonar Bridge picked up the Fair Play award.
