Family ties for award-winning athlete Bradley

Ewen Bradley has been named the Scottish Highland Games’ professional circuit athlete of the year.

The 19-year-old from Inverness came close to winning the award in 2017, when he was named runner up.

But he has gone one better this year after an impressive season to clinch the trophy this time round.

A committee votes on who they think has performed the best on the circuit, with the winner being named athlete of the year.

Ewen has followed in his father Donald’s footsteps by winning the award, after the more senior Bradley was awarded with the same accolade 23 years ago, four years before Ewen was born.

After working for years to get to his current level, that family tie is one of the aspects of the award that Ewen is proudest of.
