UNIQUE collectables and priceless packages are amongst hundreds of items going under the hammer at a showcase Ross-shire auction this weekend.

The Highland Hospice silver anniversary grand auction will be held at Dingwall Auction Mart this Saturday, with hopes high tens of thousands of pounds will be raised for the much-prized charity.

A signed football used in Ross County’s final First Division match ahead of the club’s historic promotion to the SPL is amongst more than 300 items up for grabs.

Football hospitality packages, one-off pieces of jewellery, music memorobilia and valuable vouchers are amongst the items donated for the fundraiser, vital to the continued functioning of the hospice, which relies on donations to continue its service.

Kenny Mackenzie from the Dingwall Auction Mart will start the bidding this Saturday at 11am with a warm welcome being extended to all-comers.

Any Ross County fan would be delighted to get their hands on this piece of history, which goes up for auction on Saturday.

Fiona Patience, communications officer at Highland Hospice said: “We really want to encourage as many people as possible to come along to the Dingwall Auction Mart this Saturday.

“Our online part of the auction has been live since Monday, October 29 and so far we have had over 1,500 bids, which we are delighted about, so we want to make our day auction just as successful.

“We will have a fantastic range of items available on the day, there really is something for everyone, and all of the items have been generously donated by businesses and members of the public, so every penny raised will go to Highland Hospice. This is a fantastic opportunity for people to pick up some great items and support the Hospice at the same time!”

In previous years Highland Hospice has managed to raise over £100,000 at their charity auctions, and we are hoping this auction will again raise an incredible £80,000 to help to continue providing the Hospice services across the Highland community.

This will be one of the last events in its fundraising calendar. To browse available lots check the hospice website at www.highlandhospice.org
