JLS prove bit hit in Dingwall
THE army of 10,000 fans which descended on Dingwall for the JLS concert on Saturday were well behaved, police have said.
Despite the huge number of people travelling to Dingwall for the rock concert at Ross County FC’s Victoria Park Stadium, there was no trouble in the town and the event went off smoothly.
Police said the show had been a family orientated event and concert goers were all good humoured.
Boy band JLS were supported by singer Olly Murs, runner-up in the 2009 X Factor TV talent competition.
A successful park and ride system operated from Dingwall Auction Mart at Humberston on the outskirts of the town, bussing concert goes from there to the stadium. Special trains and buses were also laid on to take fans into Dingwall.
Balloons were sold at the stadium and later released in memory of Aidan Owens, the six-year-old boy who died in a house fire in Milton, near Invergordon, last Sunday.
It is the first time that a big rock concert has been stated at Victoria Park but Ross County hopes to hold other such events in future, providing valuable extra income for the club.
