Ally Ridgers was invited by Monster FM, the trainee-run live radio station, to organise a follow-up to last year’s popular Soundclash Sessions throughout September. Here he talks about the highlights and the celebration afterparty weekender.

1 When this year’s Monster FM event started, you expanded into more time and added new radio show The Underground Music Project. How did it all work out?

I decided to add The Underground Music Project Show as I wanted a show that interacted with the audience and had a voice for the dance music scene. What Andy Stone did with it exceeded everything I had hoped for. The effort and detail he put into each week’s show was just genius.

2 Have you had much feedback yet from the Monster FM team and the public, if so what has been the feeling?

Feedback has been amazing once again and makes all the time and effort putting the show together all worth it. I worked closer this year with the Monster FM team which was great.

3 has it given you more ideas of things you'd like to do next year, maybe extra things or doing bits differently?

I already have a few ideas for what I want to do next year with the shows but think its important to keep the same format by having weekly mixes.

4 You had a preview event, so what will be happening at the afterparty weekender?

As with the launch party it will feature a strong dj line up consisting of djs who had exclusive mixes on this years shows and will run the both Friday and Saturday at Karma Lounge, Inverness.

5 Last year, Monster FM inspired you to do something different after it was finished ie the live streaming Will there be anything you take forward fromthis year's Monster FM weeks into the rest of the year?

I will be taking a break from all things SoundClash until the start of next year and just focus on djing until then. The live stream will return but a date hasn't been decided yet.

6 What have been some of your best memories of this year's sessions and the Andy Stone Show?

The fact all the mixes were totally exclusive to the show was my most pleasing factor and just everything about The Underground Music Project show i just loved.

7 Give us some info on the afterparty weekender!

Friday will feature the likes of my SoundClash partner Kaos Theory, Filth Djs, Digitized djs, Bounce and Mastershake and Andy Stone and on the Saturday will feature a special back 2 back from Polymath & Boomshank Redemption aswell as Alan Macpherson, Stereo Crookz and myself.

The afterparty weekender will also see the launch Karma Lounge's new FUNKY BUDDHA featuring djs playing House, Deep House and Disco on the Friday night and on the Saturday it will feature djs playing Hip Hop, Funk and Breaks.
