Chris McLeish broke his scoring duck for the season with the only goal of the game just before the hour.

An unselfish pass by strike partner Shane Sutherland set up McLeish for an easy tap-in.

Sutherland himself passed up some good opportunities for City, who stayed solid at the back to notch up their second clean sheet in a row.

After a 1-1 draw at Annan and a 1-0 win over Edinburgh, Elgin are now third in League 2 behind Peterhead and Annan on goal difference.

The Borough Briggs men's next game is on Saturday at home to Cowdenbeath, who thumped Berwick Rangers 4-0 on Saturday.
