Vice-captain primed for Morton return

Ross County vice-captain Liam Fontaine is back in contention for tomorrow’s clash with Greenock Morton after the defender came through a North of Scotland Cup match unscathed.

Fontaine started against Invergordon on Wednesday and helped the youthful Staggies side to a 7-1 win.

County co-manager Steven Ferguson says that it was crucial for the 32-year-old that he got back into match action after returning to training last week.

“It was important that we got Liam some minutes and it was lucky we had the game,” Ferguson said.
