POLICE made no arrests in Dingwall on Saturday when 10,000 people descended on the town for the JLS concert.

The event, the biggest crowd-puller ever to be held in Dingwall, went "extremely well" according to local police inspector, David Greenlees.

Insp Greenless said that apart from one or two minor complaints about the noise and the traffic, there were no problems.

He said there were slight traffic tailbacks between Maryburgh and Dingwall at the end of the concert, but that was to be expected as thousands of people were leaving the area at the same time.

The inspector said that an estimated 10,000 people went to the concert at Ross County's Victoria Park Stadium and crowds also turned out for an Armed Forces Day parade in the High Street earlier in the day.

"There were no arrests," he said.

"There was a great atmosphere all day. I was out from about 9.30am in the morning at the armed forces parade, the atmosphere was good and the weather was excellent."

Boy band JLS rose to fame after coming second behind winner Alexandra Burke in the ITV talent show,The X Factor. The band were supported in Dingwall by another X Factor runner-up, Olly Murs.
