Inverness street pastors to offer support during the day

STREET pastors will soon be offering care and support to people in Inverness city centre during the day.

The voluntary pastors, who are from local churches, already help people in the centre on Friday and Saturday nights.

But under a new scheme, funded with £11,000 of Inverness Common Good money, the pastors will be out during the day — starting from next Tuesday — in what is believed to be one of the first initiatives of its kind in the UK.
