Altered bus times ready
STAGECOACH North Scotland has announced details of its finalised plans for timetables in Aberdeenshire and Moray following their public consultation in September 2018.
More than 200 comments were received during the consultation and as a result of an extended period of updating the timetables based on the feedback received, the start date for the new timetables is Monday, November 19.
The local bus operator held a series of events in Peterhead, Ellon, Fraserburgh and Elgin to discuss the plans with local communities as well as sharing the proposals online with the ability to provide feedback digitally for anyone unable to attend one of the events.
The original proposals included an additional service 10 journey introduced from Huntly to address capacity issues in the morning peak to Aberdeen; an additional service 35 journey introduced Monday to Friday from Aberdeen in the afternoon peak and the Deveron Community and Sports Centre near Banff Academy introduced to some service 35 journeys.
A number of amendments have been made to the proposals as a direct result of the customer feedback received, these updates include: Service 10: The 2300 journey from Aberdeen Monday to Saturday will now operate at 2320 and will operate as far as Insch.
Service 35: The 1745 journey from Aberdeen will extend to Whitehills. The 2205 journey from Aberdeen will now depart at 2215 and will serve His Majesty's Theatre. The 2335 journey will also operate via His Majesty's Theatre. The 2320 journey from Elgin will now extend to Portknockie.
Service 257/258: This service will be curtailed to only operate the school journeys. Customers should contact Aberdeenshire Council regarding arrangements relating to local journeys in Turriff.
David Liston, managing director, Stagecoach North Scotland said: "Giving our customers the opportunity to help shape the timetables is an extremely important part of designing our network."
