One person taken to hospital after deliberate fire in Aberdeen tower block
A fire in an Aberdeen tower block that saw one person taken to hospital is being treated as deliberate by police.
Emergency services were alerted to the blaze on the 12th floor of a block of flats at Aulton Court, Seaton Crescent, shortly before 7pm on Monday.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson confirmed four fire engines and a height vehicle were sent to the scene.
They said fire crews left the scene at 10.09pm, once the fire had been extinguished.
The fire is being treated as wilful and inquiries are ongoing
Police were also in attendance and confirmed that one person was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.
They said the fire was being treated as “wilful” and that inquiries were being carried out.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Police received a report of a fire within a block of flats at Aulton Court, Seaton Crescent, Aberdeen.
“Emergency services attended and the fire was extinguished.
“One person was taken by ambulance to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.
“The fire is being treated as wilful and inquiries are ongoing.”
A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We received a call at 8.17pm on Monday January 20 to attend an incident on Seaton Crescent, Aberdeen.
“We dispatched seven ambulances and two special operations response teams (SORT) to the scene. We transported one patient to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.”
