Motorcyclist, 18, dies after crash in Dumfries and Galloway

An 18-year-old man has died after his motorcycle was involved in a crash in Dumfries and Galloway.

The crash happened on the C11N between Kirkton and Auldgirth, near Dumfries, at about 4.35am on Monday.

The man was riding a Lexmoto LXR125.

Emergency services attended, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police Scotland said the man’s family has been made aware.

The road was closed to allow for investigation but has since reopened.

Sergeant Lloyd Caven, of Police Scotland, said: “Our thoughts are with the family of the man who died and our inquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.

“We are asking anyone driving on this road prior to the crash who may have information that could assist with our investigation to get in touch.

“In particular, please check dashcams and if you have footage that may help then make contact with officers.”
