LESS than two weeks of the school holidays remain, but there’s still plenty of time to enjoy local activities.

Fun sessions, stepping stones and public swimming sessions are always a hit, and are available all summer long at Forres Swimming Pool. The timetable is available online: www.moray.gov.uk/downloads/file120436.pdf.

Forres library is open throughout the summer holidays and children can take part in the Mischief Makers summer reading challenge. Children can explore a map of Beanotown to find a hidden treasure chest full of pranks. As they read library books for the challenge they will receive special stickers, some with mysterious smells. By adding these stickers to their maps, young readers will help Dennis, Gnasher and friends solve clues and discover the treasure, having lots of fun and adventures along the way. To take part, children need to sign up at the library where they will be given a colourful collector’s map of Beanotown to keep a record of their journey.

The Falconer Museum’s holiday family drop-ins offer craft activities on Wednesdays from 10am-2pm. No need to book but all children must be accompanied by an adult. Make songbird magnets on Wednesday, August 1 and flights of fancy masks on August 8.

Or make the most of the sunshine and head to one of the parks to let the kids burn off some energy! You can see a map of all the play parks in Moray, plus pictures and details of play equipment, online: www.moray.gov.uk/moray_standard/page_104418.html.

There are still spaces on the gymnastics sessions being held at Forres House Community Centre from Monday 6 – Thursday 9 August, suitable for those in P3-P7. Limited spaces are available for the P3-4 block, so book now to avoid disappointment. Blocks cost from £11.40, or are included with a family Fit Life membership.

For more information and how to book, download the Sports Development Summer Holiday programme from Moray Council’s website: www.moray.gov.uk/downloads/file120241.pdf.
