Police are looking for witness accounts following an incident at an hotel in Alness

A "considerable amount" of damage has been caused to a Ross-shire hotel following an overnight attack.

Police say the Station Hotel in Alness suffered the damage at around 3am on Sunday morning.

Northern Constabulary, which is now appealing for information from the public, says both the inside and outside of the High Street-based hotel was damaged.

The statement said, "An incident occurred whereby a considerable amount of damage was caused to the exterior and interior of the premises.

Police are carrying out enquiries into the incident and request that anyone who was in the area and witnessed anything suspicious or who have any information are asked to contact Alness Police Station on 01349 882222 or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555555.
