Chalmers says win was a relief for Inverness Caledonian Thistle

JOE CHALMERS admits last weekend’s Firhill thrill has only whetted Caley Thistle’s appetite for more Championship victories.

The versatile midfielder felt like a huge weight lifted in the west end of Glasgow as he and his team-mates ended a run of seven consecutive draws with victory over Partick Thistle.

Tom Walsh’s winner – and a crucial penalty kick and rebound double save from Mark Ridgers – also stretched the club’s unbeaten league record to 24 matches.

Chalmers admits there was a mix of relief and elation in the dressing room after the final whistle, but left the team craving much more of that winning feeling.
