Elderly woman struck by van in Alness
AN ELDERLY woman has been taken to hospital after being struck by a van in Alness.
Emergency services were called to assist after the pensioner was involved in the collision outside the Bank of Scotland in the town’s High Street.
Ambulance crew treated the casualty at the scene before taking her to Invergordon County Hospital.
Police said the woman, who was local, sustained leg injuries.
The incident happened at around 12.08pm today (Fri).
Inspector David Greenlees at Dingwall said: "The woman was struck slightly by a van. It may be that the van driver did not even realise she had been struck.
"The casualty has been taken to Invergordon County Hospital where she is being given treatment. It is not expected that she will be kept in."
