Iain Vigurs rescued a point for Ross County as they had to come from behind to salvage a draw against Falkirk.

Co-managers Stuart Kettlewell and Steven Ferguson stuck with the same 11 which hammered Greenock Morton 5-0 three days previously.

Falkirk created the first chance to take the lead when Zak Rudden missed a golden opportunity after Deimantas Petravicius cut down the left wing and unleashed a pass across the face of the six yard box. But Rudden was unable to get a foot on the ball to the relief of the County defence.

The Staggies responded when Demetriou fired in a cross from the right wing that found Billy McKay 10 yards from goal but his header went over the bar.

Falkirk were gifted the lead in the 26 minute when Don Cowie’s attempted clearance from a Petravicius cross beat Scott Fox and found the top right corner of the net.

Falkirk should have made it 2-0 just before half time in a counter attack move which saw Rudden release Petreavicius down the left wing whose pace proved too much for the defence to cope with.

He passed into the six yard box to find Paul Paton who somehow scuffed his shot when it was easier to score.

County started the second half brightly with Davis Keillor-Dunn connecting with a Billy McKay pass but fired straight at goalkeeper David Mitchell.

Ross County were awarded a free kick midway through the second half when Aaron Muirhead fouled Brian Graham. Vigurs launched the ball into the box which found Sean Kelly whose cross met Keith Watson whose cheeky back heel didn’t fool Mitchell who saved well.

Petravicius was the best player on the park and he almost made it 2-0 for Falkirk after charging into the box but saw his shot from 12 yards out blocked by last ditch tackle from Watson.

But Ross County equalised with 12 minutes remaining when Iain Vigurs shot a powerful curling effort from 20 yards straight into the top left hand corner of the net.

Falkirk could have won it in injury time when Andrew Irving was unchallenged 12 yards in front of goal but blasted wide.
