HANNAH Mackenzie has only been competing in fencing for six months, but already she has won a medal in national competition.

The Dingwall teenager won bronze at the 2018 Scottish Intermediates at Edinburgh in the women’s épée.

The Dingwall Fencing Club athlete put in an impressive performance to finish on the podium against the top fencers at intermediate level in the country.

Competing at her first national championship, Mackenzie (17) said she surpassed her own expectations as she won 10 out of 14 contests at the tournament to return home with a medal.
