THE funeral service of a well-known Caithness musician took place this week. George Crawford, who died suddenly on June 27, was 53.

On Monday, a packed St Fergus Church in Wick heard about George's schooldays, his work in the construction industry, his love of motorbikes and music. He was a guitarist and vocalist, wrote many songs, played in bands, including The Outlanders and was described as "a real character with a great sense of humour."
