Sinéad Hargan and Helen Moore have taken up the co-directorship at Lyth Arts Centre (LAC) while Charlotte Mountford is on parental leave.

Sinéad is an experienced participatory artist leading on several socially-engaged projects with groups in Caithness. She is one of the lead-artists delivering the Remembering Together Covid Memorial for Highland. Sinéad has been working with LAC, in a programming capacity, over the last 12 months and has curated a successful series of events, festivals and engagement such as Climate Beacons and The People's Palace of Possibility.

Sinéad and Helen worked together on the Out Of The Blue project across 2022, a project dedicated to creativity and blue health with teenagers in Caithness, funded by the Ideas Fund and the National Culture Collective. Sinéad is in the blue coat talking to Helen in the green. Picture supplied

Helen (currently education and outreach coordinator) has created a thriving education and engagement programme which, last year, reached every primary-school-aged child in Caithness. She leads on all our work with children, families and young people working particularly closely with Highland Council Children’s Services. Helen will continue to lead on young people’s programmes.

An LAC spokesperson said: "They are both excited to be continuing the wonderful work Lyth Arts Centre does across the county and beyond and they have many exciting projects lined up for 2024, including special lighthouse celebrations and forest discos. Keep your eyes peeled for programme announcements in the new year."
