Caithness, Sutherland and Easter Ross MP Jamie Stone is keen to hear about local people's care experiences – whether these have been good or bad.

He is hosting a Carers Listening Event this Friday (February 23) at the North Coast Visitor Centre in Thurso.

Mr Stone said: "As a carer myself, I know how isolating it can be when you are responsible for another's health and wellbeing.

"That's really what this event is about – getting carers together so that they can chat to their local representative and each other. A trouble shared is a trouble halved.

"It's important to know that you're not alone. It's also important to speak to one another so that we can share advice and tips about where to access support.

"Where there might not be support, I deem it my job to fight to secure that support from government.

"Please do come along if you have any stories or experiences to share with me and my trusty team. Tea and coffee will be provided, and I hope for it to be a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere."

Anyone unable to attend can get in touch by phone or email at 07721 333946 or jamie.stone.mp@parliament.uk

Friday's event is due to run from 11am to 1pm, with no appointment necessary.
