Youngsters at a Thurso primary school have helped to provide more than 100 Christmas gift boxes for people in need in eastern Europe.
Over the past few weeks Mount Pleasant's P2 class has been busy coordinating its 10th annual Blythswood Christmas Shoebox Appeal on behalf of the school.
The pupils' tasks included making a video to publicise the appeal to pupils and families, collecting and sorting items, wrapping and filling boxes and then transporting them to the Blythswood Care vehicle so that they can make their way to families in eastern Europe that are experiencing poverty, illness, disability or other disadvantages.
In the process, the children practised their maths skills through sorting, estimating, counting, adding and data-handling.
P2 class teacher Jennifer Gordon said: "The children would like to thank everyone who so kindly contributed items and boxes, resulting in 104 boxes being delivered to Blythswood Care. A special thank-you must go to Nicola Cameron who has been busy knitting beautiful matching hats and gloves all year round to be used in the boxes."
Blythswood Care is a Christian charity based in Evanton, Easter Ross. Boxes from the appeal will be going to Albania, Bulgaria, Hungary, Kosovo, Moldova, Romania, Serbia and Ukraine.
Donations this year have included knitted garments, small toys, toiletries and money donations.
