The essential project, which is being carried out on behalf of Transport Scotland, will begin on March 27, 2023.

The works will take place over five days, between 9am and 4.30pm from Monday March 27 to Thursday March 30, and 9am to midday on Friday March 31. The works will be weather dependant.

For safety, there will be a lane closure with a 30mph speed restriction using two-way temporary traffic lights.

Eddie Ross, BEAR Scotland’s NW Representative, said: “This upgrade to the marine navigation lights on Dornoch Bridge is necessary to ensure the safety of vessels on the Dornoch Firth.

“It is essential for the safety of drivers and workers that we put a lane closure in place while we carry out the works, however we will do our best to minimise any disruption.

“We thank motorists in advance for their patience while our teams carry out these improvements.”
