NC500 crash on the shores of Loch Eriboll in Sutherland leaves motorcyclist in hospital, says Police Scotland

A motorcyclist has been taken to hospital after a crash on the A838 near Loch Eriboll.

The crash occurred around 1.05pm on Monday afternoon. No other vehicles bar the motorbike were involved.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 1.05pm on Monday, officers were called to a single vehicle collision, involving a motorcycle, on the A838 near Eriboll.

"Emergency services attended [and] one person was taken to hospital by ambulance.

"Recovery was arranged."

There were no details as to the motorcyclist’s injuries, or the precise location of the crash, with police reporting it being “near Eriboll” itself and witnesses describing it as taking place near Polla, which sits several kilometres away from Eriboll and near to Loch Eriboll’s southern tip.
