Most popular names for Highland babies revealed
ISLA and Jack were the two most popular names for baby boys and girls born in the Highlands during 2014, according to newly-released figures.
The annual list of names registered throughout the year was disclosed by the National Records of Scotland which highlighted the top 10 for each council area.
Over the last 12 months, 21 babies were named Jack, making it the most popular boy’s name in the Highlands, with Oliver second (19) and James third (18).
Meanwhile, Isla was the most popular choice for girls as it was given to 25 babies with Emily second (22) and Amelia and Ava joint third (16).
