More unpaid work for Wick man whose door was forced by police

Police, acting on information received, forced a door to gain entry to George Innes's house in Wick and arrested him.

However, Innes resented the officers' action and shouted and swore at them after being taken to the local police station, Wick Sheriff Court was told on Tuesday.

Fiscal David Barclay said that the 59-year-old waved his arms about "in an aggressive manner".

Innes, of Macarthur Street, Wick, admitted threatening or abusive behaviour on August 19, last year, and having a record.

Solicitor Jose Donachie said that her client was "stressed" at the damage to the door and felt he was "the wronged party". However, she added that Innes appreciated that his reaction was unacceptable and that he should not have acted in the way he did.

The accused had 60 hours of unpaid community work added to an outstanding 35 hours, which was part of a sentence imposed, previously, for an unrelated offence.
