The annual event is held in memory of Durness man Marty Mackay, who died of kidney cancer in 2010 aged just 43.

It includes a 57-mile cycle ride from Lairg to Durness, and a 15-mile walk from Rhiconich to Durness.

The fund's managers posted on its social media page: "Last year £9,200 was paid out to various cancer charities and other good causes. Well done and thank you so much to everyone who took part or helped out in any way.

"Since the first event in 2011, the grand total of £178,669 has been raised and so many worthy charities have benefited from your generosity. What an amazing achievement everyone."

This year's event takes place on April 13.
