A MISSING man who police believed may be in Caithness has been found "safe and well", the force has announced.

Officers launched an appeal on Sunday morning to help trace Archie Wise (22), who had been reported missing from Cumbria on April 19.

Police believed he'd travelled to the Caithness area and had urged residents to keep an eye out for him and his black Vauxhall Astra.

But shortly after 12.30pm, they posted an update to confirm he had been found and thanking the public for their assistance.
