A SPECIAL event for children at Pulteneytown and Thrumster Church in Wick has been hailed a success.

The one-off club, Autumn Detectives, was held last Saturday and 34 local children gathered to take part.

Following on from the church’s well-established summer holiday club, the autumn club, over a couple of hours, allowed the mini-sleuths to enjoy a number of activities, including singing, games and crafts as well as learning about the miracles of Jesus from Bible stories.

Also over the weekend, around a dozen teenagers joined in themed activities at the church, including a special murder mystery evening on the Saturday.

The Rev Andrew Barrie, of Pulteneytown and Thrumster Church, said: “We really enjoyed hosting this afternoon of fun for the local children and welcoming the community into our church.

"We’re very thankful to the team of folk from the church who worked so hard to make this happen.

"We would also invite everyone to look out for our upcoming Christmas events in December.”
