Dancers from the Mina Mackay School of Dance took part in their first festival of the year, the Mina Mackay Festival, in Keiss.

The judges for the event were Jane Douglas, of Fort William, and Lindsey Jones, of Aberdeen, while pipers Jack Manson (Thurso), Glenn Miller (Watten) and Morven Miller (Watten) provided the tunes.

There were a total of 83 dancers from across Caithness, with several from Orkney and some as far away as Grangemouth at the event.

This year organisers were delighted to have 26 primary dancers – aged 4 to 6 years – in what was the first festival for many of them.

The school with the most points over all the sections was the Elise Lyall school.
