Keith gets the triple with award bonanza

THE Highland Business Awards witnessed a Caithness firm pick up two major accolades – making it three in total in just three weeks.

Cyber Security Scotland scooped the two awards for Most Promising New Business and Caithness and Sutherland Business of the Year. This adds to the Outstanding Achievement Award presented at the Caithness Chamber of Commerce annual dinner three weeks ago.

Founder and executive chair Dr Keith Nicholson was overjoyed, saying it had been "an incredible month" for the company.

“First the Caithness chamber award, then the joint venture with North Highland College and now winning these two Highland business awards against strong competition," he said.

"It is so rewarding to receive these accolades from our peers as recognition of our work over the past year.”

The awards were made in recognition of Cyber Security Scotland’s depth of expertise in developing security models to protect the public sector and the standards that its commercial suppliers need to adopt.

The firm’s down-to-earth, practical approach to a complex subject, alongside its reputation for innovative solutions and on-time and on-budget delivery, has contributed to a growing status within the industry and with clients.

This is also reflected in Dr Nicholson’s invitation to become a member of the National Cyber Leaders Board, a public/private sector government advisory body.

Dr Nicholson added: “We have established a high bar for ourselves in both quality and innovation in our services, as recognised by these awards. Maintaining this standard across our projects will be our goal.

"We have further advancements planned in 2019 and I’m looking forward to 2020.”

It was announced in September that Cyber Security Scotland was teaming up with North Highland College UHI to run online cyber-security courses.

The partnership will create a Cyber Security Institute to fulfil a market need in cyber-related skills development, awareness training and software product creation.
