Mey hall toddlers presentation
A CHEQUE for £470 was presented to the Mey hall toddlers' group by John Brotherston of the folk group Callants.
Bertha Mackenzie, who assists in the running of the toddlers' group, said: "It is a wonderful amount that will help with a number of activities for the children and thanks to Callants for choosing our group to receive the donation."
The money was raised from a number of folk events, raffles and a quiz held by the staff and friends of the Castle of Mey and the Granary Lodge over the past year.
Callants are John, Andy and Adam Brotherston who have performed folk sessions for many years now and have always donated their takings to local charities.
Their next charity event will be held in the Thurso High School on Friday, May 1, at 7pm, with all proceeds going to the transport costs for a school educational trip to Iceland later in the year.
