Met Office warns of snow in Caithness next week

The Met Office issued a Yellow Warning for snow over Caithness and the rest of the Highland region on Wednesday, December 7.

The bulletin posted at 11.25am today (Saturday, December 3) states: "Showers will fall as snow to low levels on Wednesday. Accumulations of 2-5cm are possible at lower levels, with 5-10cm above 200 metres, with some drifting and blizzard conditions in the strong northerly winds."

It also states there may be some travel disruption with "some roads and railways likely to be affected" with longer journey times by road, bus and train services.
