HEAVY rain which is heading for the Far North could result in localised flooding tonight.

The Met Office today issued a yellow alert for the east of Caithness.

Slow-moving heavy showers are likely which will reach Dunbeath, Wick and John O’Groats.

Members of the public are asked to be aware these may lead to local surface flooding.
