Members of Caithness and Sutherland Vintage and Classic Vehicle Club are being urged to turn out for memorial run on Sunday, October 1.

The run is the second to be held in remembrance of club stalwart David Green. From Caithness, David, who died on October 5, 2022, was formerly managing director and owner of Green & Cameron building contractors.

An honorary member and senior committee member of the club, he took enormous pride in organising the annual John O'Groats Rally which brought fellow vintage and classic car enthusiasts together from all over Scotland, Orkney and Shetland.

A post on the club's social media page reads: "David was a stalwart of this club who guided us through thick and thin over decades of selfless dedication which allowed us to flourish into what has become a well respected club throughout Scotland.

"We do hope you will all turn out on this memorial run as an expression of our gratitude, respect and admiration for David."

The run leaves Thurso harbour at 10am, calling at Melvich for coffee and heading on to Tongue, where a photo shoot will take place, and onwards to Durness for lunch at the Smoo Cave Hotel.

Anyone travelling from Helmsdale can meet up with the club at Melvich.
